2024 Kia EV9 teased, reveal due later this month
The Kia EV9 has been teased less than a month ahead of its global unveiling, with Australian examples of the electric SUV due to arrive in the second half of 2023.
The 2024 Kia EV9 full-size electric SUV has been teased by the South Korean car-maker ahead of its official unveiling later this month – with an Australian launch between July and September 2023.
While Kia has previously shown off the new EV9 in prototype form and camouflage, the new teaser images and video provide the first look at its production-ready exterior design.
In a video uploaded to YouTube, the Kia EV9 appears to share a number of design highlights with the concept which was revealed in November 2021, such as integrated door handles, a unique front light design and the car-maker’s signature tail-lights.
Last month, a leaked video of the Kia EV9 showed the bold aerodynamic wheels which featured on the Kia EV9 concept SUV look set to remain on the production-ready vehicle, though the reverse-hinge rear doors appear to have been replaced by a more traditional design.
As previously reported, the Kia EV9’s projected pricing and power outputs have also been leaked, with the line-up ranging from a single-motor 149kW/339Nm variant – priced from $US56,000 ($AU79,600) – to the range-topping dual-motor, 298kW/651Nm grade, expected to start from $US73,000 ($AU103,750).
The Kia EV9 will be revealed later this month, with Australian arrivals due to begin between July and September 2023.
