The Hyundai Palisade large SUV has received a handful of minor equipment updates for 2024, due to arrive in Australian showrooms this week alongside price rises of between $900 and $1530.
While the Hyundai Palisade Elite continues to open the SUV’s line-up, prices have increased by $900 – now starting from $66,800 plus on-road costs in front-wheel-drive 3.8-litre petrol V6 guise, or $70,800 plus on-road costs for the all-wheel-drive 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel.
The Palisade’s existing ‘Highlander’ flagship variant now has a new name, becoming the ‘Calligraphy’ – with prices increasing to $75,900 plus on-road costs for the V6 petrol (up $935) and $79,900 plus on-road costs for the turbo-diesel (up $1530).
For 2024, the Palisade Elite gains acoustic front door glass, alloy scuff plates, mélange knit headliner and pillar liners, a heated steering wheel, wood trim-look interior inserts and an eight-way power adjustable front passenger seat.
The Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy is now equipped with touch controls for its tri-zone climate control system, as well as acoustic-laminated rear door glass and hydrophobic front door glass.
A new Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Black Ink grade has been added as a top-of-the-range variant, bringing dark exterior and interior highlights to the large luxury SUV for a $1000 premium on top of the Calligraphy's petrol and diesel grades.
The Palisade Calligraphy Black Ink features a dark-tinted radiator grille, front and rear skid plates, gloss black 20-inch wheels and roof racks, plus dark-tinted front and rear bumper, lower door and tail-light garnish.
Inside, the Palisade Calligraphy Black Ink is upholstered with black suede seats and headlining.
The Hyundai Palisade’s engine line-up continues unchanged, offering the choice of a 217kW/355Nm 3.8-litre non-turbo petrol V6 with front-wheel drive, or a 147kW/440Nm 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with all-wheel drive.
Both versions of the SUV use an eight-speed automatic transmission, and have claimed fuel consumption figures of 10.7L/100km and 7.3L/100km, respectively.
The 2024 Hyundai Palisade is now on sale and rolling out through the car-maker’s Australian showroom network.
