2023 Toyota Yaris Cross recalled due to incorrect tyres

More than 200 examples of the Toyota Yaris Cross have been recalled in Australia as incorrect tyres could be fitted to the city SUV.

Toyota Australia has recalled 245 examples of the 2023 Toyota Yaris Cross as they could be fitted with tyres which do not meet Australian regulations.

The recall affects GR Sport hybrid variants of the Yaris Cross, which were built by Toyota between October 2022 and April 2023.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: "Toyota Australia has identified the involved vehicles were equipped with tyres that did not correctly align with the Australian Design Rules (ADR) certification requirements for this model.

"As a result of this tyre fitment, some performance characteristics may vary slightly from the certification data.

"This matter is a compliance matter only, there are no safety concerns with the tyres presently fitted to your vehicle."
