2023 Toyota GR Supra price and specs

For the first time in 20 years, the Toyota Supra will be available with a manual transmission in Australia – going on sale later this year for the same price as the automatic.

  • 2023 Toyota GR Supra pricing and specifications
  • Six-speed manual now offered alongside eight-speed automatic transmission
  • GT variant gains larger rear brakes, GTS now equipped with lighter 19-inch wheels
  • Priced from $87,000 before on-road costs

The 2023 Toyota GR Supra is due to arrive in Australian showrooms before the end of the year, with the Japanese car giant confirming pricing for its updated sports car.

As previously confirmed by Toyota, the 2023 GR Supra will return a six-speed manual gearbox to the Supra line for the first time in more than two decades, available as a no-cost option alongside the existing eight-speed automatic transmission.

The Toyota GR Supra will be available to order in two variants: the entry-level GT, priced from $87,000 plus on-road costs, and the better-equipped GTS starting at $97,000 plus on-road costs.

This represents a price increase of $506 across both variants compared to the 2022 Toyota GR Supra.

According to Toyota, the new six-speed manual transmission is 18kg lighter than the automatic and is equipped with rev-matching software, which blips the throttle on downshifts for a smoother drive – although this can be disabled in the car's Sport mode.

Toyota claims a refined electronic power steering and vehicle stability control tune deliver a sharper initial turn-in steering response across both GR Supra variants, complemented by new suspension bushes.

Upgrades to the 2023 Toyota GR Supra GT over its predecessor include enlarged 345mm rear brake discs – previously exclusive to the GR Supra GTS – replacing the 2022 model's 330mm discs.

Toyota GR Supra GTS variants are fitted with new-look 19-inch dark silver alloy wheels – featuring a similar design to the GR86 and GR Yaris – each of which shed 1.2kg compared to the old 19-inch wheels.

Black leather remains as the Toyota GR Supra's standard interior upholstery, although the GR Supra GTS's previously-available red leather option has been replaced by tan leather. Alcantara continues to be offered as a $2500 option.

The exterior colour palette now includes Copper Grey, Azure Blue and Matte White in addition to the existing choices of Monza Red, Bathurst Black, Fuji White, Silverstone Yellow and Nurburg Matte Grey (GTS only, like Matte White).

Goodwood Grey and Suzuka Silver will no longer be available to order.

Under the bonnet, the Toyota GR Supra's engine is unchanged, with the BMW-built 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder unit continuing to produce 285kW at 6500rpm and 500Nm between 1800-5000rpm.

Toyota's suite of safety systems will also carry across to the 2023 GR Supra, although manual variants are equipped with traditional cruise control, missing out on the radar-based adaptive cruise control fitted as standard to the automatic.

A full list of features can be found at the bottom of this story.

The 2023 Toyota GR Supra will arrive in Australian showrooms in the fourth quarter of 2022 (October to December).
