2023 Renault Koleos price and specs: New features, price rises up to $2900

Prices of the 2023 Renault Koleos have risen for the third time this year by up to $2000 – or up to $4910 in 11 months – as part of a model-year equipment upgrade.

Available now, the Koleos range has expanded with an all-wheel-drive version of the mid-trim Zen – and new features on two of the three specification levels, including a full advanced safety suite on all models.

Renault has increased prices by $2000 on the entry-level Koleos Life – now $37,000 plus on-road costs – for a price $4010 higher than it was at the start of the year (albeit with fewer standard features at that time).

The largest price rise has been applied to the Zen front-wheel drive – up $2900 for December, to $41,700 plus on-road costs, or $4910 more than its January price – while the flagship Intens models have risen by $200.

New on the entry-level Life is blind-spot monitoring, front and side parking sensors, cloth and leatherette seat upholstery (replacing cloth), a height-adjustable passenger seat, ambient interior lighting, and auto-folding side mirrors.

It also gains illuminated vanity mirrors, rear privacy glass, a new 18-inch wheel design, and additional chrome highlights on the lower side of the body, and rear bumper.

One step above is the Zen, which for 2023 gains features previously exclusive to the Intens – a larger 8.7-inch touchscreen, automatic parking, a hands-free power tailgate, LED reversing lights, scrolling rear indicators, and one-touch folding rear seats.

The Zen also scores a new 18-inch wheel design, black leather seats (replacing leatherette), and Koleos-branded chrome sill plates, plus the height-adjustable passenger seat and ambient lighting introduced on the Life.

The top-of-the-range Intens has lost its 11-speaker Bose premium sound system for 2023 – replaced by the eight-speaker Arkamys system standard on other models – along with its sand grey nappa leather seat option, meaning it's now available with black nappa leather only.

Deleted from all models for 2023 are front LED fog lights and the wide-view driver's side mirror.

All Koleos variants are powered by a 2.5-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine, sending 126kW and 226Nm to the front or all wheels through a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT).

Renault claims 0-100km/h acceleration times of 9.5 and 9.8 seconds for front- and all-wheel-drive models respectively, and claimed fuel economy in mixed driving of 8.1 and 8.3 litres per 100km.
