- 2023 Land Rover Defender pricing and specifications
- New 130 body brings eight seats, longer rear overhang
- SE trim the only option, with petrol or diesel power
- Priced from $124,150 before on-road costs
The 2023 Land Rover Defender 130 is coming to Australia, priced from $124,150 plus on-road costs.
Available only in SE specification with a choice of petrol or diesel engines, the Defender 130 costs $24,170 to $24,600 more than an equivalent Defender 110 – though for the extra spend buyers get a longer body with eight seats and more boot space (click here for full details).
Two engines will be offered by Land Rover in Australia, the D300 diesel and P400 petrol – both based around 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engines, with 48-volt mild-hybrid systems, eight-speed automatics and all-wheel drive.
The D300 quotes outputs of 221kW and 650Nm, while the P400 offers 294kW and 550Nm – good for 0-100km/h time of 7.5 and 6.6 seconds respectively.
A full standard feature list is yet to be confirmed, however Land Rover Australia's press release points to an 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, adaptive air suspension, 20-inch wheels, and the Terrain Response off-road system.
Other items standard on the Defender 90 and 110 SE include 'premium' LED headlights, 12-way power front seats, an 11-speaker sound system, wireless phone charging, and a full advanced safety suite. There's no guarantee these will be standard on the 130, however.
Options on the 130 SE may include a choice of five or eight seats, plus heated third-row seats and four-zone climate control.
Orders for the 2023 Land Rover Defender 130 will open in Australia on 1 August 2022. Local launch timing is yet to be confirmed, however first arrivals early next year appear probable.
Drive understands further details of standard specifications may emerge within the coming weeks.
