2022 Audi new cars
It's shaping up to be a big year for Audi, with the German car maker to overhaul its small car, large SUV and flagship sedan offerings.
Last year (2021) was an eventful one for Audi, launching a handful of new or updated SUVs – but 2022 promises to be even bigger.
COVID-19 and semiconductor-related delays have pushed a slew of new-generation Audi models into next year, leaving the brand with no fewer than nine models planned for 2022 – the majority of which are set to arrive within the first half of the year.
Kicking off the rollout will be the long-delayed, new-generation A3 small car – initially scheduled for a late 2020 launch in hatchback guise – with a choice of two petrol-powered variants. The four-cylinder, performance-oriented S3 will arrive around the same time, followed by the five-cylinder RS3 in the second quarter (April to June).
The SQ7 and SQ8 performance SUVs will switch from diesel to petrol power in the first half of the year, ahead of the arrival of a facelifted A8 flagship sedan, with a sporty S8 flagship.
Audi will launch two new electric cars next year: the tri-motor E-Tron S in early 2022 – in both 'wagon' and Sportback bodies – followed by the E-Tron GT in the third quarter, some 12 months after it was initially scheduled to arrive.
Despite the new model onslaught, there are a handful of new cars not confirmed for local shores – including the new Q4 E-Tron small electric SUV, which remains 'under consideration' for the Australian market.
