2021 Kia Sorento: prices rise by up to $3880
The 2021 Kia Sorento seven-seater family SUV will go up in price by between $2160 and $3880 when it arrives in showrooms next month.
The new-generation Kia Sorento will continue to be available with a choice of 3.5-litre V6 petrol (200kW/332Nm) front-wheel-drive, or 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel (148kW/440Nm) all-wheel-drive; both matched to eight-speed automatic transmissions.
Petrol-powered versions of the 2021 Kia Sorento will be priced from $45,850 plus on-road costs (an increase of $2160) and top out at $60,070 plus on-road costs (up $3880) for the GT-Line.
Diesel-powered versions of the 2021 Kia Sorento come with a $3000 premium over the equivalent petrol model, priced from $48,850 plus on-road costs (an increase of $2660) and top out at $63,070 plus on-road costs (up $3380) for the GT-Line.
In addition to being an all-new model from the ground up (albeit with carryover engines), the price rises are largely attributable to extra equipment, some of which is first-in-class.
Last month a confidential Kia dealer bulletin revealed all new Sorento models will have a centre airbag between the front seats, and top-end variants will have remote parking technology and a blind spot camera, among other advanced features.
