2017 Kia Carnival Recalled Over Brake Issues
Australia’s most popular people mover gets flagged for recall action.
Kia has issued a recall for its 2017 Carnival people mover concerning the brake system, leading to a possible issue with the effectiveness of the car’s brakes in certain situations.
In affected vehicles the vacuum hose to the brake booster may weaken over time. The result could lead to a hose collapse when vacuum is applied, making the brake pedal became hard when applied repeatedly.
The extra brake pedal effort required may result in longer than expected stopping distances for the amount of pedal force applied, posing a hazard to vehicle occupants and other road users.
Kia has identified 628 cars involved in the recall action and will contact owners via mail to with instructions to arrange a free inspection and repair. Carnival owners wishing to know more can contact their local dealer.
