Nissan’s ongoing styling evolution has so far resulted in a range of new SUV models, from the big Pathfinder through to the midsized X-Trail and small Qashqai.
But, while a number of new models like the European-market Pulsar have appeared in the past year, Nissan has yet to fully transfer its sharpest styling to the sedan and hatch range.
The first of its sub-SUV models to debut that angular new design language is the new US-market Maxima, revealed in January. Just weeks later, however, Nissan revealed the compact Sway hatch concept.
Although Nissan has yet to confirm a production future for the Sway, it has revealed that we can expect elements of its styling to appear on a future compact model - likely the next Micra.
“With this new concept car for Geneva, we are experimenting to see how Nissan might be able to bring fresh ideas to the compact hatchback segment,” the company said in a statement earlier this month.
This new rendering (top of article), crafted by independent designer Theophilus Chin, offers a look at how the Sway could look in production form.
