BMW’s two-door family will be expanded next month with the arrival in Australia of the 2 Series Convertible.
Revealed in September last year, the small new droptop range will join the 2 Series Coupe that landed in local showrooms around this time last year.
Pricing for the 2 Series Convertible will kick off from $54,900 plus on-roads for the 135kW 220i, marking a $4400 premium over its hardtop sibling.
That places the price of entry into the 2 Convertible club well beyond the $47,300 103kW Audi A3 Cabriolet Attraction, although it is the $51,900 $132kW Ambition model that is the 220i’s more direct rival.
Moving beyond the 220i into the 228i or hero M235i brings a significant premium of its own, priced from $68,900 ($4500 more than the 228i Coupe) and $85,800 ($9900 more than M235i Coupe) respectively.
