Want more go for your new SS - like, 270kW and 530Nm not enough for you? Walkinshaw Performance has developed a pumping new power pack for Holden's 2013 VF Commodore SS and other V8 variants, and it's on sale now.
Launched as part of the brand's new 'W Series' range, the $6495 W310 pack boosts outputs to 310kW and 580Nm of torque - figures that, according to general manager Tony Harris, are the best Walkinshaw has ever offered.
"The final figures are impressive as our previous power pack saw gains of up to 10 percent. With the W310 package it’s more like 20 percent, and we did this without compromising the drivability of the vehicle," Harris said today.
The improvements come courtesy of Walkinshaw ceramic coated headers and high-flow catalytic converters, along with the company's own stainless-steel cat-back exhaust and cold air intake, and a ECU recalibration.
In standard Holden-tuned trim, the VF SS Commodore's 6.0 litre V8 offers 270kW and 530Nm (260/517 in auto form).
While you can get more out of that engine than Walkinshaw has managed, this pack offers the the benefit of a warranty on Walkinshaw's own parts, and any issues that result from their fitment.
"One of the highlights of this package is the all new exhaust system that brings back the growl V8 owners love so much," Walkinshaw's Tom Reynolds said.
And if you're wondering about the pictured car's carbon-look bonnet, mirror caps and boot spoiler - those are all vinyl wraps and aren't included in the W310 package. Purely a styling exercise to set the big sedan's look off.
