As the names suggests, the package will lift the regular output from GM’s 6.2 litre V8 petrol engine, known as the LS3, to a whopping 547kW.
Torque naturally follows the power output in the upward direction, with the W547 pack boosting the numbers to 880Nm.
The performance tuner says its latest ‘W’ package is “by far the most powerful performance enhancement available for a Commodore that Walkinshaw Performance has ever produced”.
Included in the kit is Walkinshaw’s WP230 Supercharger, large high-flow injectors, a cold air intake package, custom moulded heater hoses and more.
The pack also includes Eaton Twin Vortices 2300 Series Gen VI rotors and cast aluminium coil covers, and it’s all finished off with W547 badging, a certificate of authenticity and a full dyno tune from an authorised Walkinshaw Performance Centre.
Furthermore, the first 50 customers will receive a supercharger top cover and aluminium coil covers in gloss yellow, along with an invitation to attend an exclusive Walkinshaw Performance V8 Supercar ride day.
The #18 Walkinshaw Racing entry in the V8 Supercars category will wear W547 livery for the final three rounds of the season.
“With close to 2000 W Series packages fitted to customer vehicles over the past two years, Walkinshaw Performance continues to lead the way in power, performance and passion,” Walkinshaw Performance Walkinshaw General Manager, Tony Harris, said.
“It’s not necessarily about the power and torque, it’s really about how well the package is put together and how well it drives which in turn is based on how well it’s been engineered. All up there are currently six W Series packages on offer with something to suit just about everyone.”
W547 packages will be available to purchase through Walkinshaw’s dealer network from tomorrow, and prices start at $25,990 which includes supply and fitment.
