Revealed in November, the new midsized SUV-like offering had first been marked as an 'under consideration' prospect for our market, with an official allocation still to be locked in.
Speaking with TMR today, Volvo Car Australia spokesperson Oliver Peagam revealed that the V60 Cross Country will be "arriving here around Q3/Q4" this year.
That news follows the unveiling today of a new S60 Cross Country model. On the topic of an Australian debut for that variant, Mr Peagam said only that there is "nothing to officially confirm at this stage".
As for the V60 Cross Country, the jacked-up wagon will join the purpose-designed XC60 as a new midsized SUV option in the local Volvo range.
Local specifications for the V60 Cross Country won’t be revealed until later this year, although we can likely expect petrol and diesel options to be offered.
The V60 Cross Country adds 65mm in additional ground clearance over the regular V60, along with high-profile tyres, body cladding, scuff plates and extended bumpers.
Watch for local details and pricing to be confirmed later in the year.
