You've got to wonder if Volvo is working an angle here. The number of official teasers for its new V40 small car have been limited to a silhouetted photo and an animated video offering nothing you could call useful information.
In the past fortnight however, we've seen a flood of leaked images that have left little to the imagination, revealing the slick new hatch from every angle, inside and out.
Now, Greek website Auto2day claims to have the full rundown on the V40's engine range, and its wider family, including a new S40 sedan, a C30-replacing C40 three-door, and a high-riding XC40 crossover.
The report describes three petrol and three diesel engines, along with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
Volvo's new stop-start and rear-axle kinetic energy regeneration systems are also expected to appear as standard equipment across all engine and transmission combinations.
The 1.6 litre T3 engine will open the petrol range, delivering 112kW and 240Nm of torque, followed by a T4 version of the same engine with 134kW and 270Nm on tap.
Topping the petrol line-up will be Volvo's familiar 2.5 litre T5 engine, delivering an enhanced 187kW and 360Nm of torque. The website claims that a 0-100km/h time of 6.5 seconds has been confirmed for the petrol flagship.
The opening pair is expected to be offered with both manual and automatic transmissions, while the T5 will get the six-speed auto only.
In diesel form, the 85kW/270Nm 1.6 litre D2 engine is expected, returning fuel consumption figures as low as 3.6 l/100km - bettering the ultra-green C30 DRIVe in Volvo's current line-up, which lists figures of 3.9 l/100km.
A 111kW/350Nm version of the 2.0 litre D3 diesel will sit in the middle of the range, followed by the 132kW and 420Nm D4 at the top end.
The five-door V40 will reportedly measure in at 2041mm wide and 4369mm long, riding on a 2647mm wheelbase - around 40mm longer and wider than the new BMW 1 Series five-door, but with a 50mm shorter wheelbase.
If the report proves accurate, there's not much left to know about Volvo's new fighter in the competitive small car segment.
With its Geneva Motor Show debut now just a couple of weeks away, all will be known soon enough.
