Volvo is working on a new five-door sportwagon companion to its C30 three-door hatch, and our new spy photos reveal the new model in its thinnest camouflage covering yet.
Expected to be called the V30, the new hatch will likely also preview a new styling language for the next generation of the three-door C30.
With the additional of a five-door variant to the Volvo's '30' range, the Geely-owned Swedish carmaker will be better placed to tackle the Volkswagen Golf and other small rivals.
A crossover compact SUV is also expected to figure in Volvo's small-car line-up, so keep an eye out for spy photos of a high-riding XC30.
Drivetrains for the V30 will likely include Volvo's recently announced stop-start and rear-axle kinetic energy regeneration systems. Volvo says the latter technology can give the vehicle an extra 60kW of power when needed.
