Volvo S90 To Replicate XC90 Formula To Take On Large Luxe Rivals

The upcoming replacement for the Volvo S80 will draw on the next-generation XC90's design and technology as the Swedish brand aims to take on BMW, Audi and Jaguar in the large luxury segment.

Expected to be badged the S90, Volvo's new large sedan may also spawn a V90 wagon variant. Styling will draw on the Concept Universe shown in 2011 (pictured), but may also take some cues from 2013's Volvo Coupe Concept.

But most importantly, Volvo will be appling lessons learned from its latest XC90 to its future large sedan offering.
