Volvo S60 And V60 Get Small T4 Petrol And D3 Diesel For Australia

2011 VOLVO S60 AND V60

Volvo's S60 sedan and V60 wagon duo has gained a pair of efficient new engines for the Australian market this week, one petrol and one diesel.

T4 Petrol

Entering at $48,990 in S60 form and $51,990 in V60 trim is the T4 petrol engine, bringing the sedan under the $50,000 mark and cutting $3000 from the price of entry into both bodystyles.

The T4 GTDi petrol four-cylinder engine produces 132kW and 240Nm of torque, with fuel consumption listed at 7.4 l/100km. Paired with a six-speed Powershift dual-clutch auto, the T4 will hit 100km/h in nine seconds.

It enters the line-up below the 177kW/320Nm and 8.6 l/100km T5 engine.

Volvo's specced-out Teknik variant is available for both bodystyles, with the T4 Teknik priced at $59,490 for the S60 and $56,990 for the V60 version.

Until the end of 2011, buyers of the T4 variants will also benefit from a drive-away price of $49,940 for the S60 and $52,950 for the V60, along with a five-year warranty and five years of roadside assistance and free scheduled servicing.

D3 Diesel

Joining the T4 at the entry-level end of the S60 and V60 line-ups is the five-cylinder D3 diesel, producing 120kW and 400Nm of torque.

Paired with a six-speed geartronic automatic transmission, fuel consumption is listed at 5.9 l/100km in S60 form. The 0-100km/h time comes down in 9.2 seconds.

The D3 enters below the current D5 engine, which produces 151kW and 420Nm of torque and uses 7.1 l/100km of fuel on the combined cycle.

At $54,990 for the S60 sedan and $57,990 for the V60 wagon, the D3 cuts $2960 from the starting price of the diesel offerings in both bodystyles.

As with the T4 petrol variants, Volvo's Teknik pack is available with both D3 offerings. The S60 Teknik is priced at $59,490 and the V60 Teknik at $62,490.

Features

Standard features for both the T4 and D3 include 17-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, rear-parking sensors, powder-adjusted driver's seat, a seven-inch display, Bluetooth audio and Volvo's City Safety technology.

The Teknik models add a power-adjusted passenger seat, satellite navigation, BLIS blind-spot alert, active headlights and headlight cleaners.
