Volvo's exterior design manager has confirmed that the Swedish company is seriously considering a production version of its Coupe Concept from last year's Frankfurt Motor Show, but that development has been put on hold as the brand concentrates on other products.

Following the Coupe Concept's Frankfurt unveiling and a strongly positive reaction from media and showgoers alike, Volvo was reportedly considering bringing out a production version of the concept - albeit in limited numbers.

But speaking to UK mag Auto Express, Volvo's chief exterior designer Anders Gunnarson said while the company would "very much want to build the Concept Coupe", the focus for now is on bringing the XC90 SUV range to market.
