Volvo’s unveiling last year of its hot Coupe Concept brought with it the promise of two more concepts that would preview the Chinese-owned Swedish brand’s future.
The second concept in the trilogy, January’s XC Coupe concept, offered a first look at Volvo’s new SUV plans… but there’s still one more to come.
This week, Volvo has confirmed it will unveil the third and final concept in the line at next month’s Geneva Motor Show, although it has revealed little else.
Volvo last previewed its next S80 with the Universe and You concepts in 2011, although the carmaker has since moved on from that look.
Whatever the new concept’s identity, there’s no doubt that it will ride on Volvo’s new Scaleable Platform Architecture (SPA), which will form the basis of most of the company’s next-generation models.
Volvo’s new Drive-E engines will also power the future line-up, introducing a powerful new approach to four-cylinder technology.
On the styling front, expect the new concept to build on the look of its Coupe and XC Coupe siblings, with tight angles, sharp lighting and that wide new grille design.
Watch for more details to come next month, although a teaser (or five) will likely appear before then.
