Volvo has launched a pair of special-edition models into the Australian market this week, celebrating its first year in the local V8 Supercars championship.

Based on the S60 T4 Kinetic midsized sedan and the V40 T4 Kinetic small hatch, the new ‘Sprint Edition’ specials add a handful of sports-styling tweaks that Volvo claims is a $4000 boost in value.

Packed in with the S60 T4 Sprint Edition are ‘Bor Black Diamond Cut’ 19-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler and leather-trimmed R-Design sports seats in black for the front row.

For the V40 T4 Sprint Edition, there’s 18-inch alloys in a ‘Midir Black Diamond Cut’ look, along with tinted rear windows and a rear hatch-top spoiler.

The models are unchanged mechanically, with the S60 T4 powered by a 132kW/240Nm 1.6 litre petrol four, and the V40 T4 powered by a 132kW/300Nm 2.0 litre five-cylinder petrol engine.

Pricing (includes on-roads)

The S60 T4 Sprint Edition is priced at $54,888 and the V40 T4 Sprint Edition is priced at $46,888, with both prices including on-road costs.

Only 100 units of each special will be offered.
