Volkswagen's Scirocco R sports hatch will make its official Australian debut in early February. If you just can't hold out until then, VW has announced that test drives are now available.
With pricing and specifications already revealed, there is little left for keen future Scirocco owners to do but bide their time - and book in a quick spin at the nearest dealership.
The Scirocco R is powered by the same 188kW and 330Nm 2.0 litre turbo engine that drives the Golf R, but holds onto the regular front-wheel-drive layout instead of the Haldex all-wheel-drive system featured in the hero Golf.
Revealed back in September, pricing for the single-variant Scirocco R will start at $47,490 for the manual model, and you can tack on another $2500 if you want the DSG automatic transmission.
