Volkswagen describes the fault as causing either non-functioning dipped beam or high beam headlights, daytime running lights, rear fog lights or indicator bulbs to not be indicated to the driver. Alternatively functioning lights may incorrectly signal as having failed.
The fault may lead to poor visibility for both the vehicle occupants or other road users, particularly in low light conditions or at night.
Volkswagen has identified 2377 vehicles that may be affected. Owners of recalled vehicles will be notified by mail to arrange an inspection and software update for the concerned control module.
Any owner wishing to know more is advised to contact their local Volkswagen dealer or Volkswagen’s recall enquiries line on 1800 504 076.
