Volkswagen has confirmed that it will launch a diesel version of the all-new Beetle at next month's Chicago Auto Show, following the unveiling of the petrol range in April last year.
The 103TDI delivers 103kW and 320Nm of torque, with fuel consumption listed at 5.5 l/100km. Internationally, the Beetle 103TDI will be offered with a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed DSG automatic transmission.
As for Australia, the new Beetle is not expected to arrive here until later this year, with specifications to be revealed closer to its local launch.
We can likely expect to see Volkswagen's 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol as the Beetle's headline act in Australia.
Producing 150kW and 280Nm of torque in Beetle trim. the turbo engine will be paired with both six-speed manual and six-speed DSG automatic transmissions.
