Volkswagen Australia Announces Capped Price Service Program

Volkswagen has announced a broad new capped-price servicing programme for its entire passenger range, from the light Up hatch through to the large Touareg SUV. 

Introduced first for the Up hatch last year, the new program follows confirmation from former Volkswagen Australia Managing Director Anke Koeckler with TMR in January.

All models in the range sold from January 1, 2013, now come with the six-year/90,000km capped-price service program, giving the brand one of the longest coverage periods in the Australian market. 

Prices vary across the line-up; a 15,000km/12mth service for the Up will cost $280, with the $369 60,000km/48mth service being the most expensive for that model.

At the big end of the family, the 15,000km/12mth service for the Touareg V8 TDI R-Line will cost $519, topping out at $988 for the 90,000km/72mth service.

A scheduled service in the Volkswagen Capped Price Service program includes the replacement of oil filters, engine oil and sump plug washer, along with the standard replacement of the air filter (at 45,000 and 90,000km) and spark plugs (every 60,000km).

The program will also apply to Up models sold since October 6, 2012 and Beetle models sold since 23 February - and will also include the Golf 7 once on sale from April 27.
