Featuring unique Runner badging and heavy-duty trim material, production will be limited to 100 Crafter Van Runners, and just 90 Amarok versions.
Like existing Runner models, the Crafter Van and Amarok versions carry drive away pricing, effectively creating new entry points to their respective ranges.
The Crafter Runner’s $39,990 drive away price represents a $5510 drop over the regular entry Crafter 35 mid-wheelbase with standard roof’s manufacturer’s list price (MLP).
Savings for the Amarok are less obvious, with its $26,990 drive-away price likely to undercut the regular entry Amarok TSI300 single cab-chassis ($24,490 MLP) once on-road costs are added.
The Amarok Runner also adds standard aluminium tray over the regular Amarok TSI300 single cab-chassis.
Like regular Crafter and Amaroks, Runner models are equipped with stability control, hill-assist, air conditioning and daytime running lights.
Crafter Runners are equipped with the 2.0 litre 80kW/300Nm TDI 300 turbodiesel engine, with an 1537kg payload.
Amarok Runners are fitted with the 2.0 litre 118kW/300Nm TSI 300 petrol engine, and boast a 1303kg payload.
Volkswagen Australia has confirmed that the limited-number Runner models are available in dealerships now.
