Among these, the headline acts will be the launch of the Beetle Convertible and Jetta Hybrid, with both expected in late 2012.
The Beetle Convertible will join its hardtop sibling (launched in US in late 2011) in offering three engine options, ranging from 2.5 litre five-cylinder petrol to the venerable 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol and diesel fours.
Volkswagen say the convertible will feature a ‘fast-acting top that preserves the sleek lines of the coupe’.
The Jetta Hybrid was first unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show in January, and uses a 112kW 1.4 litre petrol four combined with a 20kW electric motor to deliver a combined 125kW through a DSG transmission.
Volkswagen claims combined fuel consumption figures of 45mpg (5.23 l/100km) for this version of its best-selling US model.
The rest of the Volkwagen US range will receive several minor spec and detail updates, including the facelifted CC launched in Australia this month.

Speaking with TMR this week, Volkswagen Australia’s Karl Gehling confirmed that the Jetta Hybrid is still off the cards for Australia, with the local VW arm satisfied with the 2.0 litre diesel 103 TDI model as its eco-offering.
Gehling also confirmed the hardtop Beetle for an early 2013 launch, with local Convertible plans still up in the air.
