Volkswagen has dipped a toe in the capped-price servicing waters with a program that, for now, focuses on the new Up city car.

Only applying to the $13,990 Up, the capped-price service plan is certain to add extra incentive to buyers considering VW's newest baby.

The program offers 90,000km or six years of coverage, whichever comes first - the latter being one of the longest-term programs available in Australia.

The Up's first and second scheduled services under the program are due at 15,000 and 30,000km, both priced at $280.

A $332.50 service is due at 45,000km, and the most expensive service,  at $369.50, falls at 60,000km.

A scheduled service at 75,000km is priced again at $280, while the final service under the Volkswagen Capped Price Service Program, at 90,000km, will cost $332.50.

Volkswagen says each scheduled service will include replacement of oil filters, engine oil and sump plug washer. The 45,000 and 90,000km services will include new air filters, and new spark plugs go in at 60,000km.

Announced at the Australian International Motor Show, Volkswagen has confirmed the program is available for all Up models sold in Australia since its introduction.
