Victorian police officers from the Hobson's Bay, Wyndham and Maribyrnong areas executed Operation Jawbone this week, targeting drink driving and hoon behaviour.

Over two nights, highway patrol members recorded 121 traffic offences around the inner western suburbs of Spotswood, Newport, Altona, Williamstown, Laverton and Point Cook.

Offenders included 65 speeding drivers, seven drink-drivers, eight unlicensed, two seat-belt offences and three unregistered vehicles. During the operation, four vehicles were impounded.

Among the lead-footed offenders was a 23 year-old Altona Meadows man, booked for travelling at 164km/h on the Princes Highway. His vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

Victoria's road toll currently stands at 210, compared to 208 for the same period in 2010.
