2015 VW SCIROCCO REVEALED
As Volkswagen’s Scirocco marches into its sixth year, the carmaker has this week blessed the hot three-door with a few new tricks.
Revealed today, the updated 2014 Scirocco gets a number of styling and technology enhancements to help it kick through until its replacement arrives in 2016 or 2017.
For styling, the Scirocco gets updated lights at both ends with new LED accents, along with revised bumpers and a refreshed grille design.
Likewise, the 2014 model gets Volkswagen’s new steering wheel design and improved materials throughout.
A new set of gauges have also been added to the dash, displaying turbo pressure, oil temperature and - as an homage to the original Scirocco - a chronometer.
The instrument cluster has also been updated, and there’s a new covered storage space next to the handbrake lever.
The full Scirocco range (yes, there’s a full range available in Europe) gets upgraded petrol and diesel engines, including more power for the hero R model.
It’s the Scirocco R we’ll likely get again in Australia, and that model’s 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine now offers 206kW.
A six-speed manual is again standard, with an optional six-speed DSG auto also available.
Watch for details of the Australian model to come soon.
