Look for two high-performance versions of the Toyota Yaris to star at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
First-up will be the awesome World Rally Championship contender TMR detailed here last December. The Yaris WRC has its maiden outing on 19 January at the Monte Carlo Rally but won’t appear in Toyota dealerships any time soon.
So far in advance - the Geneva Motor Show kicks-off on 9 March - Toyota isn’t gushing with details on this three-door model but we can see from the pics a sporty body-kit front and rear which is very nicely executed (note the rear wing and central exhaust) as well as stylish six twin-spoke alloy wheels in black.
Toyota says the interior has been updated too (no specifics) and that this model is to provide a link between the Yaris rally beast and the mainstream models.
While bereft of specifics, we’re told under the bonnet lurks a 157kW engine (maybe a de-tuned version of the turbo 1.6-litre fitted to the WRC car)and that technical enhancements will deliver improved ride and handling.
