Toyota’s Japanese and European dealers welcome the refreshed Auris hatch this week, known in Australia by the familiar Corolla name.
For 2015, the Corolla picks up a number of key styling updates, revealed in March, but buyers in Japan will also now have the option of a new turbocharged model.
Known in Japan as the 120T, the new variant is powered by Toyota’s 8NR-FTS 1.2 litre direct-injected and turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 85kW and 185Nm, the latter available between 1500 and 4000rpm.
As with most small turbocharged engines, the Corolla’s 1.2 mill is focused on fuel economy.
