Toyota Australia has recalled more than 300,000 Yaris, HiLux and 70 Series LandCruiser models, as part of a worldwide program encompassing more than six million vehicles.

Around 118,600 previous-generation Yaris light cars will be recalled in sedan, three- and five-door hatch form, built between June 2005 and May 2010.

Toyota says if the front seats are moved forwards and backwards often, the locking-spring may break; a symptom that is exacerbated for three-door models where the front seats need to move to allow access to the rear.
