Toyota's upcoming FT-86 rear-wheel-drive sports car is a little less than two weeks away from its production debut at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show. Bring on the teasers.

A flood of leaked images and details in recent weeks has ensured that there's little left to know about the car, but Toyota is treating it as business-as-usual, releasing a new video today.

Early scenes in the video show children playing with Celica and 2000GT toys, suggesting that Toyota could be moving away from the FT-86's early inspiration in the popular AE86 Corolla.

The reference to Toyota's classic sports heroes may also point to a final name for the car, which has until now been known only by its FT-86 concept name.

A US trademark application for the name "FR-S" was made early last year (where the car will be sold under the Scion brand), and reports have also pointed to a return of the Celica name.

The Tokyo Motor Show is just around the corner, where all will be revealed...
