Toyota has confirmed that its upcoming small SUV, the C-HR, will be powered by a turbocharged 1.2 litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The confirmation comes months after TMR first reported the 1.2 litre turbo engine would be coming to Australia
The new engine is designed to offer the flexibility of a larger engine, with the fuel consumption of a smaller engine, though Toyota hasn’t revealed official consumption figures for the turbocharged C-HR.
With 85kW of power and 185Nm of torque available from 1500rpm to 4000rpm, the C-HR will come with a choice of six-speed manual or CVT automatic for front-wheel-drive models while all-wheel-drive variants are paired exclusively with the CVT.
