Toyota Australia has introduced a new pre-owned car program, offering inspection and warranty coverage for vehicles less than four years and 100,000km old, along with roadside assistance.
Toyota says the certification is only available on vehicles that have passed a 90-point quality inspection, including mechanical and appearance reconditioning.
Hybrid models are included in the deal, and all components - including the hybrid transaxle, control modules and battery - are inspected.
The warranty includes 12 months or 50,000km of coverage, valid at all Toyota dealerships.
A vehicle history report is also included with each Toyota Certified Used vehicle, provided by online group Carhistory.
The report includes details from the National Personal Property Securities Register, along with information on whether a car written-off, stolen, suffered flood or storm damage and whether the odometer readings are accurate.
"The Toyota Certified Used Vehicles program provides a 'like new' ownership experience by combining the value of a used vehicle with the confidence of purchasing a new vehicle," Toyota Australia's Matthew Callachor said.
"This is a smart alternative to traditional options because it gives consumers the peace of mind when buying a used vehicle that only a Toyota factory-backed certification program can offer."
