Toyota Announces $125,000 Prize Pool For Toyota 86 Racing Series

Toyota Australia has announced that its grassroots Toyota 86 Racing Series will be backed by a $125,000 prize pool for the 2016 season. The series, announced in 2015 under the Toyota 86 Pro-Am Race Series banner will be paired with selected V8 Supercar


Toyota Australia has announced that its grassroots Toyota 86 Racing Series will be backed by a $125,000 prize pool for the 2016 season.

The series, announced in 2015 under the Toyota 86 Pro-Am Race Series banner will be paired with selected V8 Supercars events around Australia.

Starting in May, the series will also include rounds at Sydney Motorsport Park in August, Sandown in September, Bathurst in October, and Sydney Olympic Park in November.

The series will provide a $50,000 prize to the series winner, as well as a $20,000 international VIP experience, which is yet to be fully disclosed.

Second place is $30,000 while third place will win $15,000. An additional driver that finishes outside of the top three be nominated as a ‘rising star’ and will be awarded an entry into a round of  New Zealand’s Toyota Finance 86 Championship.
