It was a big week for the motoring industry, with simultaneous international motor shows held in Tokyo, Los Angeles and the Chinese city of Guangzhou

The three shows offered more than a handful of important unveilings, but few packed the build-up of spy photos, teasers, rumours and reports that preceded the new MINI Cooper, and the new Subaru WRX.

Making its international debut in three-door form at the LA Auto Show, the 2014 Cooper brings new technology, new engines and a more spacious cabin.

Just a short stroll from the MINI stand at the LA Auto Show, Subaru unveiled its all-new 199kW 2014 WRX performance sedan.

MINI Australia says the iconic small car should arrive in local showrooms before the end of Q1 2014, while the new WRX will hit local showrooms in March.
