The Hyundai Genesis sedan has arrived in Australia as a new player in the large rear-wheel-drive luxury market, priced from $60,000.

Available as a single model, the Genesis can be optioned with one of two ‘packs’ that push the price north to $71,000 or $82,000.

Power comes from a 3.8 litre V6 producing 232kW/379Nm matched to an eight-speed automatic, with fuel usage listed at a high-ish 11.2 l/100km.

Porsche revealed its updated Cayenne GTS model this week, which will join a new petrol V6 entry model in Australia early next year.

The ‘new’ GTS  will replace the sports-focused model that first debuted in April 2012, swapping its 294kW/500Nm 4.8 litre V8 for a powered-up version of the 3.6 litre twin-turbo V6 that drives the updated Cayenne S model.

The upgrade sees GTS model’s output and twist grow to 323kW and 600Nm, cutting the performance SUV’s 0-100km/h time from 5.7 to 5.2 seconds.
