It was a big week for HSV with the unveiling of its entire Gen-F range, on sale from next month. The GTS was the star of the show, now that the 430kW supercharged V8 has been confirmed.

We know the GTS will be close to the $95,000 mark, but other models may receive a price drop in line with the regular VF Commodore range.

Updated Caprice and Caprice V models will be a considerable $10,000 cheaper this year and, for the first time, the six cylinder option will be powered by LPG only. Understandable, given the 3.6 litre V6 LPG engine is the preferred choice amongst fleet buyers.

Those preferring a 3.6 petrol V6 could opt for the new VF Ute - which is fitted with the engine in the entry level variant - starting from $32,990.

Away from home, TMR’s Tim O’Brien spent a few days in India, testing the new Ford EcoSport small SUV.

The EcoSport will be available in Australia from around December, starting in the low $20,000s. A 1.0 litre, three-cylinder EcoBoost engine could just give the EcoSport the sales edge over rivals such as the upcoming Holden Trax and Opel Mokka.

Mercedes-Benz flagship 2014 S-Class will hit the market in Australia from November, with a little more riding on its shoulders since the Maybach brand was retired.

Peugeot’s seven-seat 5008 wagon went on sale in Australia this week with both petrol and diesel engines. Watch for TMR’s review in the near future.

Sticking with Peugeot, we saw some teaser images of the all-new 308 hatch this week, shortly before Peugeot made its official online unveiling.

Digital art wizard Theophilus Chin put together a rendered image of the new Honda Civic Type R. There are plenty of rumours surrounding this car, not least of which is a 225kW turbo four-cylnder engine.

The name “Mclaren Honda” is legendary in Formula One, and this week we learnt that the name will once again grace the lap charts in 2015.

TMR readers reacted strongly this week to the news this week that South Australia is pushing to change its dangerous driving laws to include offences committed on private property.

And finally, Sony gave us a preview of nights spent on the lounge room floor, with a taste of Gran Turismo 6. The franchise celebrated its 15th anniversary this week.

And that’s... the week that was.
