THIS is the week that was.

In a move certain to appeal to the social media generation, HSV announced that its latest Commodore incarnations will be labelled 'Gen-F', following on from the current E Series. Why?

The obvious 'F series' was certain to have upset Ford, and possibly Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone (as the first series would have been dubbed 'F1').

As for the cars themselves, a popular rumour - unconfirmed - suggests that a supercharged V8 may find its way under the bonnet. We'll be watching for firm news from HSV.
