BMW’s new M3 and M4 performers are now available in Australia, powered by a twin-turbo 3.0 litre inline six-cylinder engine.

The ‘six’ replaces the outgoing 4.0 litre V8, lifting power and torque to 317kW and 550Nm while aiding a 0-100km/h time of 4.1 seconds.

Pricing is up for both, with the M3 kicking off at $156,900 and the M4 entering at $166,900 - compared to the $157,000 launch price of the now retired M3 Coupe.

Ford has updated its Focus small car range in Australia for 2014, adding a host of new standard features while retaining the current pricing structure.

Emergency Assistance is now standard across the range, while some models pick up rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, a Power Start button and the ‘Convenience Pack’.

Pricing still kicks off at $20,290 for the Ambiente 1.6 litre petrol hatch with five-speed manual, plus on-road costs.
