The week began with disturbing news about seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Michael Schumacher.

After learning the F1 ace had been involved in a skiing accident, the news quickly turned for the worse, with confirmation Schumacher was in a "life-threatening" condition in an induced coma.

 As we prepared to celebrate the New Year, Schumacher’s condition remained “critical” before his long-time manager, Sabine Kehm, announced no further updates would be provided until his condition had changed significantly; for better or worse.
