Tesla’s Model X SUV has been delayed again, with the new on-sale date expected to be sometime in Q3, 2015.

The all-electric SUV was supposed to hit the market last year, before increased demand for the Model S sedan meant production resources were diverted to ensure a healthy supply.

That move shifted the launch date to early next year, and now Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed that a further delay of six months or more is inevitable.

The CEO stressed that Tesla wanted to ensure the Model X wasn’t ‘rushed’ into showrooms to meet a pre-set deadline - preferring instead to delay the launch in an effort to avoid recalls.
