If you’re a bike fan still thinking about the 2015 Sydney Motorcycle Show from last weekend, don’t worry - so are we.
Despite the challenges faced by Australia’s car-based motoring shows, bike fans have proven that a gathering of bike-makers and accessory suppliers under one roof can succeed.
The show featured everything from BMW to Yamaha to Indian, along with every facet of life on two wheels; from gear, to accessories, to world tours.
Rather than let the feeling slide, we’ve compiled a Ten Of The Best from the Motorcycle Show to keep the embers burning for at least another week…
So here they are in no particular order:
BMW F 800 GS - water-cooled 63kW twin-cylinder with a 24-litre touring fuel tank, standard ABS and an optional Enduro mode.
Triumph Thruxton R - Brembo monobloc calipers, Showa big-piston forks, Ohlins rear suspension and Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres.
Victory Jackpot - continues the theme for Victory with a 106 cubin-inch air-cooled V-Twin matched with a six-speed transmission with overdrive. $24,995 ride-away.
Moto Guzzi California 1400 Eldorado - 71kW/121Nm 1380cc 90-degree air and oil-cooled V-Twin. $24,000 ride-away.
Aprilia SRV 850 - We’ve covered it before; still one of the world’s best maxi scooters.
Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro - liquid-cooled 1198cc engine producing 118kW/136Nm, matched with a mammoth 30 litre fuel tank.
Suzuki SV650 - “Universal” and “go-anywhere” are words used by Suzuki to describe the SV650. Only 197kg wet weight, the SV650 uses a four-stroke DOHC liquid-cooled V-twin engine, and is available in white, blue, red or black.
Piaggio Fly 150 - Consistently Australia’s best-selling scooter, the Fly demonstrates why a scooter is, for many, a better alternative to walking or taking the bus for those looking to save on transport costs.
Yamaha 60th Anniversary - Celebrating its 60th anniversary in style, Yamaha arrived with a range of limited edition yellow models including the YZ450F and WR450F (pictured), along with a taste of some of the company’s vast array of musical instruments.
Kawasaki’s Learner Range - Kawasaki embraced the spirit of the motorcycle show with a comprehensive range of learner-approved bikes matched with low-rate finance offers covering half of its display area.
