Suzuki iK-2: New Small Hatch, New Platform, New Turbo Engine

Suzuki has unveiled its new iK-2 concept this week, revealing a first look at the company's coming step into the ‘small hatch’ segment.

In most western markets, Suzuki’s hatch range is limited to the tiny new Celerio and the light Swift, along with the small S-Cross crossover.

Already confirmed for a 2016 production schedule, the new iK-2 will debut as a rival to the likes of the Toyota Corolla and other models in the small-car market.

The iK-2’s dimensions place it an odd middle point, however, measuring 4023mm long and riding on a 2520mm wheelbase, while the Corolla features a 2600mm wheelbase and measures 4275mm long.

It is nonetheless larger than the Swift, which features a 2430mm wheelbase and an overall length of 3850mm.
