Revealed here in a pair of low-quality images, the new concept cars appeared on the ‘SuzukiCars’ fan profile on Instagram over the weekend.
Although Suzuki has yet to confirm details for either show-car, it is believed that the iM-4 represents a first look at a replacement for the iconic Jimny 4x4.
In early February, Suzuki released a single teaser image of the iM-4, describing it as an “all-new proposal, packed with compact 4x4 DNA and new technologies”.
Suzuki will likely push to make the next-generation Jimny (if it keeps that name) more of a ‘compact SUV’ that will appeal to more buyers, while, like the new Jeep Renegade, maintaining a level of off-roadability.
Both models, particularly the iK-2, could also hint at a new styling language the Japanese brand, which has largely steered clear of the uniform design approach now seen across other popular brands.
Watch for the new pair to debut in Geneva this week.
