The production version of Suzuki’s Authentics sedan has been given an early unveiling, thanks to a set of new patent application images.

Surfacing online this week, the Authentics sedan will launch with a taller and narrower look - as expected - along with softened styling.

These patent renderings reveal that the Authentics’ front and rear-end styling has been massaged for production, while the profile has been given a shallower character line through the doors and guards.

Suzuki’s last powerful looking concept - the popular Kizashi show cars of 2007 and 2008 - went through a similar process before the launch of production Kizashi’s 2010 launch.

The Authentics, revealed as a concept last year, is expected to debut in the Chinese and Indian markets later this year - although it is unclear if a wider global launch is planned.

In China, the eventual production version of the Authentics will take on Volkswagen's Golf-based Lavida, along with Kia's new 'Horki' brand and Ford's new Escort sedan.

Reports suggest the production Authentics sedan will make its first official appearance, however, at next month’s Auto China 2014 event.

In Australia, the Kizashi remains Suzuki’s offering in the midsized segment. In 2014, the Kizashi has achieved just 71 sales to the end of February.
