Australia’s motoring clubs have conducted their annual vehicle running costs surveys, with the Suzuki Alto once again proving to be the cheapest car in most states of Australia to own and run.

While the Alto’s running costs varied from state to state, South Australia’s RAA, Tasmania’s RACT and Queensland’s RACQ all agreed it was the cheapest.

Tasmania is the cheapest state to drive an Alto with weekly running costs of $106.65, rising to $113.33 in SA and $119.95 in Queensland.
