The NFL Superbowl is mere days away, but for those that couldn't possibly care less about American football, there's still one good reason to tune in: the halftime run of big-budget advertisements.

Thankfully, our friend The Internet has ensured we can watch the commercials without stumbling down to the nearest pub with free Fox Sports on the projector.

Last week, we got a look at new ads from Audi and Suzuki. This week it's a flood, with new clips from Cadillac, Toyota, Acura, a full four ads from Hyundai, and a new Honda ad that sees actor Matthew Broderick (sort of) reprising his Ferris Bueller role.

GM's Cadillac brand has passed on the jokes this year, getting down to serious business: the new ATS medium sedan.

Cadillac says that if your friends don't reckon the ATS can take on BMW's 3 Series as a driver's car, you can tell them to go to "Green Hell" - a nickname for Germany's Nurburgring, where much of the car's development was carried out - and find out for themselves.

Toyota's ad focuses on the idea that its new Camry has reinvented the name, shaking off its reputation for plain styling and uninspired driving.

Hyundai has released five separate ads for the Superbowl (is that a record?), including a canny cheetah Veloster ad, a pulse-starting Genesis Coupe, a corner-carving Genesis Sedan, a proud Elantra owner and a designer that gets a little inspiration - from the carmaker's entire team.

Honda's luxury arm Acura has turned to noted comedians and car collectors Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld to promote its upcoming NSX sports car, with both battling for the right to own the very first production car.

Lastly, Honda itself has thrust actor Matthew Broderick into a new take on his popular character Ferris Bueller, in the 80s film of the same name.

While Broderick plays himself in the new ad - which shows off the all-new CR-V SUV - it's clear where the ad has drawn its inspiration from.
